“Walkin’ Birrarung” - The River Walk.

“Walkin’ the Birrarung” is an Aboriginal Yarra River Walk introducing Melbourne’s Aboriginal and early settlement history through significant sites and landmarks located along the banks of the Birrarung (Yarra River). It has been running for almost 10 years.

Camberwell Central Bowls Club is undertaking the walk 10am on Monday 31 March 2014

Meeting place: Enterprise Park (next to Aquarium), Melways: 43 G10.

A party will be leaving from the CCBC clubrooms at 9am and travelling by tram

The length and duration of the actual walk is about 2hrs leisurely walking on flat ground (add the walking needed to get from public transport to the starting point).

Cost: $15 seniors; $30 others

We need a minimum number of 15 participants and the maximum in a group is 25 people.

You must register for this event by Friday 21 March and Registrations will be accepted in the order that they are made!

Le Pine Club Fours Tournament

The Le Pine Tournament is only open to playing and social members of CCBC

A day of fun and relaxation to celebrate the end of the pennants season and the start of Winter Bowls. A day to bring along friends and family.

The event will be run as a multi-tier event allowing all members to compete fairly at their own level of skill. Format of the event will be a round robin carnival based on our Saturday Pennants teams. Those members who do not normally play in the Saturday Pennants may be allocated to a team. Those not selected for the Pennants sides will play in an individual proportional (CAMS) match.

Pennants teams will play 3 games of 8 ends (fours) against the other teams in that division side. There will be a 20 minutes break between matches. The winning team in each division will be determined by:the number of games won, and in the event of a tie by the shot difference.

Other members will play an individual proportional match of 21 ends in two segments (10/11). We should be able to fill 3 rinks with non-pennants & social members.

Prize Money will be equally allocated between the 3 competitions

Timings

Arrive 10:30am for 11am start – Bar will open at 10:45am
Lunch will be available on a self-serve rotational basis from 12 noon until 1:30 pm as players complete the first game.
Play until 3pm or completion of second match
20 minute drink / afternoon tea break
Final session of 8 ends
Drinks / Snacks / refresh while scores are checked
Introduction of Event Sponsor, Remarks and Presentation of Prizes
Closing remarks / thank you by Club President
BBQ - Sausage Sizzle and refreshments for those wishing to linger
Finish at around 6pm

Member Contribution

There will be a $5 per head charge to cover food

Administration

If there are members of the pennant teams who are unavailable on the day of the carnival, skips are to advise the Match Committee (who are of course completely impartial) who will seek and allocate members from the nonpennant pool.

An attendance sheet will be placed on the Club notice board on Saturday 22nd March. Please indicate no later than 5pm Monday 31st March
